News in the last several days has Rhode Island leaving the Colonial Athletic Association for the Northeast Conference as early as next season. The Rams have struggled in the CAA (formerly Atlantic 10) and would match up more favorably in football against NEC competition. They would have an automatic rivalry date every season with Bryant College of Smithfield,RI already in the league. Stay tuned as more info becomes available.
