TE-FBS
Ladarius Green, Sr.-Louisiana Lafayette
Green is our reigning FBS TE of the Year from 2010, after postin a season in which he posted numbers of 44-794-7. The Cajuns still believe in using the TE, and with a talent like Green, they well should. There may be some readjustment of the offensive scheme in 2011, as Ricky Bustle was finally given the hustle, but Green remains the best offensive weapon that you have never heard of.
Michael Agnew, Sr.-Missouri
Agnew, in some circles, was given more praise than Green in 2010. He is certainly deserving, but gets more attention because of the status of his school. Agnew is certainly a guy who I would not kick off of the field by any means, and he posted some pretty incredible numbers in 2010 as well, having posted a line of 90-762-5. Agnew will get one more shot in 2011, but with a new QB in the making, he may not see anywhere near his 90 grabs from a season ago.
Vance McDonald, Jr.-Rice
Here's another player that you may not have seen, as he plays for horrible Rice, but he's worth watching, specifically in the redzone, as he knows how to punch it in for a score. McDonald scored a toal of 8 TDs in 2010, and with the Owls sneaking up on some folks, he could improve that number in 2011. One to watch.
Kyler Reed, Jr.-Nebraska
Reed was not used nearly enough in 2010, and I expect that to change. He's money from short yardage, and is a specialist in the short field passing game, specifically near the endzone. Reed only caught 22 passes last season, a number that I expect to see an increase in, but 8 of those 22 grabs went for scores.
James Hanna, Sr.-Oklahoma
Here's another guy who just knows how to score. You probably won't be confusing him for big play Jermaine Gresham, but of his 18 receptions in 2010, 7 of them were in the endzone. If you don't cover him, he will hurt you. He can block the hell out of some guys as well.
TE-FCS
Shadrae King, Sr.-Robert Morris
King is the only real returnee on the FCS level that even registered in 2010. As a senior, he is expected to lead the Colonial offense as a receiver, and the Colonials expect that he will be there to help get them back to the playoffs in 2011. King had a very nice season, posting numbers of 43-531-7, making him the elite TE coming back to FCS football in 2011.
TE-D2
Sean McGrath, Sr.-Henderson State
The TE position is dying a slow and horrible death, but not at Henderson State, where Sen McGrath returns for his sesnior season in 2011. McGrath is a central part of the offensive scheme, as he posted a solid season in 2010 by posting 55-656-4. Expect more of the same and maybe more in 2011 from the senior to be.
Tony Davis, Sr.-Fort Valley State
Tony Davis is known for making huge, clutch plays at Fort Valley. He averaged almost 5 receptions per game in 2010, and more is expected of the big time playmaker. His final numbers of 50-611-2 are quality for his position, but FVSU needs to find him more often where it counts, in short yardage endzone scenarios.
