Week One Pass/Fail Report Big 12

Pass
Baylor…This pass almost became a fail, as TCU raged back from a huge deficit in the 4th quarter, and the Bear defense almost collapsed. This was a good win for Art Briles, but the defense has some problems. Robert Griffin certainly doesn’t.
Oklahoma State…Justin Blackmon did not score, but had 8 receptions for over 100 yards. Even the Cowboys not at their best was better than anything that ULL had to toss at them, and the defense shut down TE Laderius Green.
Kansas…The Jayhawks were not dominant, but they lost to an FCS opponent last season to open, so this is a move in the right direction. Kansas may be slightly better this season.
Texas Tech…Tech was another team that had to wake up after finding themselves down 10-0 to the Bobcats. A loss here would have placed Tubberville on the hot seat.
Texas…The Longhorns started out strong against Rice, but they did last season as well. There was good news all over the field, as many of the coaching changes paid dividends here.
Oklahoma…The Sooners just own Tulsa, and they did so once again last weekend. There was never any reason to worry, and Landry Jones was on fire.
Texas A&M…The Aggies were dominant throughout this game, and they looked like they were sending a message to the SEC to let them know what they’d be getting. The deal is on for Wednesday for A&M to get their SEC invite.

Fail

Missouri…The Tigers were favored by 20 in this game, but were entirely uninspired. Missouri was flat, and may be overrated by many.
Iowa State…The Cyclones only got by Northern Iowa by one point, and that will not be a healthy selling point if the conference collapses and ISU has to find a new home.
Kansas State…Many people were buying into K State during the summer. Still buying in after they barely escaped EKU by a field goal? I am selling.
