Paul Wulff was given every opportunity to turn the ship around in Pullman during his 4 year stay, but eventually, the losing all became too much, even though he was well liked by the administration. There were some at the school that were really pushing for a 5th season to give him one more shot. It was not to be, and now the Cougars have gone big with the hiring of controversial Mike Leach. This was a huge and bold move for the Cougars, who are finally showing a commitment to their program after years as flailing as an also ran in this conference.
