2009 Bowl Game: Independence Bowl, defeated Texas A&M 44-20
Offense: Aaron Murray looks to be the new starting QB, but he is a freshman, so how much can you expect from him? If he falters, than the Bulldogs could roll out Logan Gray, but he too is a freshman. Whomever ends up winning the QB job (likely Murray) will have AJ Green to throw to. Green grabbed 53 balls last season, which was cut to 8 games. Green will be joined as a starter by sophomore Tavarres King, who played well as a freshman. Rontavious Wooten also played a bunch as a freshman and will contribute. TE Orson Charles will be the starting TE and is also a sophomore. LT Clint Boling is a pre season AA, and leads a line that returns all 5 starters.
Defense: The defense is changing over to a 3-4 set, which will help due to lack of depth n the line. The line is being rebuilt from the ground up, as all 3 starters will be new. DeMarcus Dobbs will shift between DT and DE, with DeAngelo Tyson and Abry Jones will rotate at DT and DE as well. Justin Houston was a DE last season, but will be the rushing linebacker this season. Akeem Dent and Darryl Gamble were bith starting LBs last year and return for 2010. Cornelius Washington will be a new starter at the other OLB spot, but he played plenty last season and should see a seemless transition into the starters role. Brandon Boykin, a real blazer, lines up at CB, and Vance Cuff will line up at the other CB. Branden Smith will also rotate in at the CB spot and should see work in the nickle D. Bacarri Rambo does not carry a machine gun or work a mean exploding crossbow, but will line up at SS. Jakar Hamilton and Nick Williams will battle it out to start at FS.
Special Teams: Drew Butler has major skill at punter, leading the nation with a 48.1 yard average in 2009. Blair Walsh is also incredible at PK, and made 20 of 22 FGs, with one of his misses coming from 56 yards. That shouldn't even count against him.

Losses: 10/30 Florida (@ Jacksonville), 11/27 Georgia Tech
Wow...Idaho State and Louisiana-Lafayette...Athens High School must be busy. That's 2 guaranteed wins. 7 wins are guaranteed as a matter of fact, but if the Dogs can magically naviagate through the toss games, than anything can happen. Here;s the bad news...Georgia really does not match up with Florida...or Alabama, who they don't have to play in the regular season.
Outlook: UGA really is facing the very real danger of becoming the Cal Bears of the SEC. Full of talent, low on actual production. Jim Donnan was fired with a very solid record, as Mark Richt has a record of high value to most schools. However, this is Georgia and the SEC, where demands are high and pressure is insane. Georgia lost to Tennessee, Oklahoma State, LSU, Florida, and Kentucky last season, and they were relegated to the Independence Bowl. That does not satiate Bulldog fan on any level. The schedule says that you should expect big things this season, but history does not, especially with a freshman QB. Richt had better find a way to win big, as another lower tier bowl game will have people hopping mad.
