Offense: QB Jeff Tuel returns after reattatching his severed head, which came after the merciless beating he took last season. 3 starters return on the line, which resembled a swiss cheese exhibit last season. C Andrew Roxas and LT Wade Jacobson were brought in from the JC ranks to create depth. The line gave up 53 sacks in 2009. 2 starters return at WR, but it's Isiah Barton, another JC transfer, that will be counted on to get down field and create some semblence of a threat. There are no stars at RB, so don't expect much there.
Defense: The defense was as awful as the offense last season, ranking 120th (dead last) in total D. Travis Long returns at DE, and DT Bernard Wolfgramm comes back at DT. DT Brandon Rankin is yet another JC transfer, and he had a solid camp. Alex Hoffman-Ellis returns at LB after leading the team in tackles last season. Daniel Simmons returns at CB and Chima Nwachukwu is abck at safety. The other two secondary spots are wide open.
Special Teams: Nico Grasu is the PK by default, and two freshmen will come in to knock him off. Reid Forrest is back at Punter, and is likely the best player on the team right now.

Not much to say here...the ugliness continues.
Outlook: WSU is one of the worst teams in the country, and there is no sign here that things will be any better this season. Paul Wulff has never been a good fit, and he obviously will not be the guy to turn this ship around. Anything more than one win would be a shock this season, and it's not a sure thing that they will beat Montana State, who beat Colorado a few years ago.
