WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football program has announced its 11-game 2014 schedule, the first-year of new Head Coach Rob Sgarlata. The Hoyas will play six home games at Multi-Sport Field, including its season-opener against Wagner on August 30.
Georgetown will look to avenge its 2013 season-opening loss at Wagner, when the Seahawks travel to Washington, D.C. to open the season on Saturday, August 30.
The Hoyas will follow it season-opener with consecutive road games against Pioneer League opponents. Georgetown takes on Dayton on September 6, before returning to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for the first time since 2011 to take on Marist on September 13.
The Blue & Gray will play two Ivy League opponents in its next three games, as they return home to play Brown on September 20. GU opens its Patriot League schedule at Colgate on September 27, before returning home to take on perennial Ivy League power Harvard on October 4..
Georgetown will resume its Patriot League schedule when they travel to Easton, Pa. to take on defending Patriot League champion Lafayette on October 11. The Hoyas have won its last two trips to Lafayette.
After a bye week, the Hoyas will host Bucknell for Homecoming Weekend on the Hilltop, on October 25. GU welcomes Lehigh the following weekend, on November 1.
Following Georgetown’s second bye week, they will continue at Fordham on November 15. The Rams, who advanced to the second round of the FCS Playoffs in 2013, will be eligible for the Patriot League Championships for the first time, since beginning to give merit-based scholarships in 2010.
Georgetown will conclude its regular-season at home against Holy Cross on November 22. GU ended its 2013 season with a dramatic win over the Crusaders in Worcester, Mass.
