We pick up the SEC schedule breakdown tour in the West, with the defending national champion Crimson Tide of Alabama:
9/3 USC (at Arlington, TX)
9/10 Western Kentucky
9/17 at Ole Miss
9/24 Kent State
10/1 Kentucky
10/8 at Arkansas
10/15 at Tennessee
10/22 Texas A&M
11/5 at LSU
11/12 Mississippi State
11/19 Chattanooga
11/26 Auburn
Notes: The Tide is what they are until someone proves they are not. That is the only way that you can grade this team, and any schedule they play. They get USC in September, but that is not a typically powerful USC team, Bama wins easily. They take care of WKU in week 2. Alabama kryptonite has come in the form of Ole Miss the last couple of seasons, but this could be the year that the Tide turns back towards Alabama. Kent State provides no problem at all. Alabama starts 4-0.
In October, there are a couple of traps. Kentucky is not one of them. Games at Arkansas and Tennessee will be tricky. Both teams have enough in the tank to push the Tide, but I still go edge to the Tide, even on the road. Texas A&M has given Alabama some issues in recent seasons, but I don't see them being strong enough in 2016. Again, edge Tide.
The annual war is coming on 11/5, when Alabama goes to Baton Rouge. LSU could be stronger this season, but until I see some semblance of life from that Tiger offense that comes from a source other than Leonard Fournette, I give the Tide the edge in Death Valley. The rest of the month should provide a cake walk in wins over Mississippi State, FCS member Chattanooga, and Auburn.
Alabama likely escapes their traps, and we see them in the Final 4 once again,.
Overall Projected Record: 12-0
