Postgame Notes



UTSA (1-2)

• Seniors Brandon Guerrero, Jarron Harris and Jeremiah Moeller and junior Kam Jones served as captains for tonight’s game.

• Tonight marked the 100th game of head coach Larry Coker’s career. He now has a 73-27 career record (.730) in eight-plus seasons (13-12 record in two-plus years at UTSA).

• Sean Ianno’s 34-yard field goal at the 10:13 mark of the first quarter capped an 11-play, 58-yard drive on the game’s opening possession. It marked the first time the Roadrunners have scored on their first drive of the game this season. 

• UTSA registered three scoring drives of 10 or more plays and now has seven this year.

• The Roadrunners were 2-for-2 in the red zone tonight and they now have scored on eight of their nine red-zone trips (88.9 percent) this season.

• Senior QB Eric Soza completed passes to 13 different receivers and he now has connected wth 17 different pass catchers on the year. Soza finished the night 30-of-46 for 277 yards.

• Junior RB David Glasco II carried 10 times for a career-high-tying 70 yards and a touchdown. His season-long 42-yard carry in the second quarter helped set up UTSA’s second score of the night, a 43-yard field goal by Sean Ianno.

• The Roadrunners defense forced four three-and-outs, giving them nine on the season.

• Junior S Triston Wade led the defense with a career-high 12 tackles, including nine solo stops. Both marks are the most by any Roadrunner in 2013. Wade now has a team-high 25 tackles this year.

• Junior S Brian King posted a career-best 10 tackles, five solo. His previous career high was eight against Louisiana Tech on Nov. 3, 2012.

• UTSA created its first turnover of the season on Arizona’s final drive of the night when freshman S Michael Egwuagu recovered a Jared Baker fumble with 26 seconds left in the contest.

• Sophomore CB Bennett Okotcha, a transfer from Oklahoma, saw his first action since his senior year at Coppell High School in 2010. 

• Junior PK Sean Ianno extended his streak of consecutive PATs made to 61 (perfect for his three-year career) and also was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goal attempts.

• Tonight’s attendance was 41,461, making it the largest road crowd UTSA has played in front of (previous: 28,677 at Rice on Oct. 13, 2012). It also marked the second-largest crowd the Roadrunners have seen overall (56,743 vs. Northeastern State, 9/3/11).
