MEAC 2017 Football Projections

The MEAC has been a three team battle between North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, and SOuth Carolina State for a few seasons now, and it seems that it will still be the case in 2017. After the top three teams, the rest of the conference is wide open. Here are our projections for 2017 in the MEAC:

1. North Carolina Central: Malcolm Bell is gone at QB, but so much more returns.
2. North Carolina A&T: Aggies will be trying to find a replacement at RB, but are still loaded.
3. South Carolina State: Played three FBS teams last fall, but won't do so again.
4. Bethune-Cookman: Discipline breakdown led to leading FCS in penalties last fall.
5. Norfolk State: Defense looks to be much improved, but offense has to catch up.
6. Hampton: Pirates were quite young in 2016, now that youth is experienced.
7. Florida A&M: Rattlers climbing back up from the dark days, but the slate is tough.
8. Morgan State: Fred Farrier is now the full time head coach, and the pressure begins.
9. Howard: Mike London returns to FCS roots, will try to get Bison going.
10. Savannah State: Tigers won 3 MEAC games last season, but will still fight to stay out of cellar.
11. Delaware State: Kenny Carter is just 1-21 as head coach, and wins must come now.
