Louisiana Tech 48, Navy 45
Louisiana Tech blew a pair of 2 TD leads in the 4th quarter, but got a last second FG to beat Navy 48-45. The Bulldogs won their 9th game, while Navy had a 3 year winning streak in bowls snapped. WR Trent Taylor led the way for Louisiana Tech, catching 12 passes for 233 yards and 2 scores on the day, which is his second game this season where he passed 200 yards and 2 TDs in a single game.
The Bulldogs finished with 497 total yards on the day, and Ryan Higgins passed for 409 yards and 4 scores on the game, and a 23 yard pass to Taylor set up the Jonathon Barnes game winning FG as time expired for the win.
Zach Abey, playing QB in relief of injured Will Worth, piled up 273 yards of offense and 3 scores, but finished the game injured, forcing Navy to go to their 3rd QB of the season, 4th if you include an early injury to their original starter.
Carlos Henderson also managed 10 receptions for 129 yards and a pair of TD receptions in the win. Barnes connected on both of his FG attempts, and also added 6 extra points for a total of 12 points on the day.
Chris High rushed for a pair of TDs for Navy, who rushed for 300 yards as a team for the 9th time this season. Navy rushed for 5 team TDs on the day.
Navy finished with 459 yards of offense in the loss.
Both teams combined for 56 1st downs in a game that saw zero defense.
