East Contenders
FAU: The Owls have taken off under Lane Kiffin in year one, and are primed to win an East Division title. They have a must win game against Louisiana Tech this week, and then get a major showdown with FIU the week after. A finale against Charlotte should be an easy win.
FIU: An FIU loss at this point would be an elimination from winning the division title. The Panthers should be favored to beat a down Old Dominion this week, but then get FAU the week after for control of the division. If the Panthers win there they would still need to win out against Western Kentucky to maintain the title without getting another FAU loss. The game against U Mass in the finale is a non con game.
West Contenders
North Texas: UNT is down to just two remaining league games left, with dates against UTEP and Rice. A win this week locks down the division title, as UNT has already beaten both UAB and Southern Miss.
UAB: It's a miracle that Bill Clark has the Blazers back in the race in year one back from their two year hiatus. Still, and earlier loss to UNT has the Blazers on the ropes. If UNT wins this week, UAB is battling for second place with Southern Miss, and UAB has already beaten them.
Southern Miss: The Eagles need two losses by North Texas, another loss by UAB, and they need to win out in games against Rice, Charlotte, and Marshall, which is completely doable.
CUSA Bowl Eligible Teams: FAU, FIU, Marshall, North Texas, UAB
