Conference Title Chase Updates Week 12: Mountain West

Mountain Contenders: Boise State, Wyoming
Boise State: A Boise State win over Air Force this week would lock up the Mountain title for the Broncos after what was a slow start to their season. They already own the tie breaker against Wyoming by virtue of their 24-14 win over the Cowboys.

Wyoming: The Cowboys could stay alive with a Boise State loss this week, but would need the Broncos to also lose to Fresno State next week, and would need to win out over Fresno State at home, and San Jose State on the road. If Boise State wins this week, the race is over.

West Contenders: Fresno State, San Diego State
Fresno State: The Bulldogs have a brutal couple of weeks to wrap up the season and come all the way back from a 1-11 season in 2016 to West champs in 2017. Fresno State travels to Wyoming this week, and then wraps up against Boise State in Fresno next week. If the Bulldogs can split, they iwn the tie breaker with San Diego State for the division title.

San Diego State: The Aztecs need Fresno State to lose out to come back to steal a division title that looked like theirs early in the season. It has been another season of random, untimely losses by the Aztecs, and it now comes back to haunt them. The Aztecs need to win out against Nevada and new Mexico, something that seems highly achievable.

Bowl Eligible: Boise State, Wyoming, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State

Can become bowl eligible this week: Utah State
