Conference Title Chase Update Week 11: MAC

West Contenders

Toledo: The Rockets are in a leadership position right now, but they still have some work to do. Toledo has already beaten Northern Illinois and Central Michigan, but must still get a win against Western Michigan in the season finale to shore things up. They can afford one more loss in league play, as long as it is not against WMU.

Northern Illinois: The Huskies now need Toledo to lose twice in their final three games, and would need to win out against Ball State, Western Michigan, and Central Michigan, to take the lead back in the division. That is the only road to the MAC title game as of now.

Central Michigan: CMU is playing their best football right now, winning 3 of 4, which includes a win over Western Michigan. The Chippewas should be favorites against Eastern Michigan and Kent State in the next two weeks. They need Toledo to lose three games, so they are up against it now. Toledo wins this week, CMU is eliminated.

Western Michigan: The Broncos have already lost to Central Michigan, but still have games with Northern Illinois and Toledo upcoming. A game against Kent State this week should be a win, but they would have to roll forward with wins against NIU and Toledo, and get SMU to lose once.

MAC Bowl Eligible Teams: Ohio, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, Western Michigan

UPDATE: Nothing has changed after the usual late slate of midweek games. Ohio beat Toledo, Northern Illinois beat up on Ball State, Central Michigan held off Eastern Michigan, and Western Michigan wins as well.
