Boston College 36, Maryland 30
BC picked up their first bowl win since 2007, and snapped a 5 bowl losing streak in the process. The Eagles led 36-13, and then fended off a late Maryland rally in the win.
Patrick Towles passed for 151 yards and 2 TDs, and also caught a TD pass in the win. The Eagles finished with 348 yards of offense in the win, but picked up only 110 yards after the half as Maryland made adjustments.
There were 9 total fumbles in the game, 4 of which were lost, and Maryland committed 11 penalties for 86 yards in a sloppy overall effort in the loss.
Ty Johnson was the star on offense for Maryland, rushing for 159 yards on just 15 carries, and added 2 scores on the day.
This was the first multiple passing TD effort in a game since October.
Perry Ellis passed for 229 yards and 2 TDs for Maryland, but finished with 3 turnovers in the loss. He completed just 15/35 passes on the day.
BC scored 23 points in the 2nd quarter alone.
