I haven't exactly been having a great year against the spread (ATS), but I have to keep moving forward. I saw some minor improvement last week to get to 9-11 ATS this season, so I'm going to try and win big today. Here are my ten point spread locks for week three:
Missouri -9 UCF
Northern Iowa +1 Hawaii
SE Louisiana +4 Tulane
NC State -1.5 USF
Old Dominion -11.5 Eastern Michigan
Nebraska -10 Fresno State
Northern Illinois -12 UNLV
Central Michigan +9 Syracuse
Georgia -2.5 South Carolina
UCLA -6 Texas
Reasoning behind my picks:
Mizzou looked very strong on the road at Toledo, and left very little emotionally to do so. Should roll against rebuilding UCF at home.
Northern Iowa has been strong and gave Iowa all they could handle. UNI has to travel a long distance to play Hawaii, but everyone does. UNI is the better team.
SELU is a top five FCS power. Tulane is as flat as a pancake. Lions get a huge in-state win.
NC State hasn't been very good, but USF has no life. I like the Wolf Pack on the road here.
EMU has been absolutely abysmal. ODU hasn't been great, but they are far superior here, even on the road.
Nebraska goes to Fresno for a rare appearance, and even though it's a night game, the Huskers should roll against a Bulldog squad that gives up over 50 per game.
UNLV lost to Arizona by 45, and beat Northern Colorado, one of the worst teams in FCS football, by a single point at home. NIU beat Presbyterian by 52, and beat Northwestern by 8 last week. Picking the huskies over the Rebels is a no brainer for me, even in Vegas.
CMU is at home against the Cuse. The Chippewas beat Purdue by three scores, while the Orangemen were taken to double OT by FCS member Villanova. I really like CMU here at home as a dog.
Georgia looks as strong as ever with their power run game. South Carolina has not lived up nearly to expectations. UGA is on the road, and I like the 2.5 point spread.
UCLA has been flat for two weeks. The doctor ordered up a reeling Texas team this week, and the patient will recover. This week, the Bruins rediscover who they are.
Enjoy your Saturday!
