Coaches Swimming in the Dead Pool: Volume 3

Scottie Montgomery, East Carolina
Can we admit that this was a mistake already? East Carolina made a major mistake when they let Ruffin McNeil go, and they have been trying to rectify it, but what were the qualifications that Montgomery had that made him so appealing? This hire was a reach, and he is doing everything wrong, and the alums are bailing in big numbers.

David Beatty, Kansas
The media wants us all to believe that the program is moving in the right direction. A 22 point win over SE Missouri State followed by back to back losses to MAC schools (Central Michigan being one of them, yeah the same CMU that lost to Syracuse by 24) is not moving in the right direction. It's year three, and there has been no movement forward. It's time to be don with this awful hire.

Sean Kugler, UTEP
He's had one good season, and nothing more, and the 2017 edition has allowed over 50 points twice, and is an 18 point dog to New Mexico State this week. By the way, NMSU is one of the worst FBS programs over the last 35 years in college football. Think about that.

Bob Davie, New Mexico
A current scandal/investigation into player mistreatment and manipulating the school's drug enforcement code is underway. The clock is ticking until the ultimate result and end.

Todd Graham, Arizona State
There were expectations to be met this season, or else the end was near. That was the message. Other than a narrow six point win over New Mexico State (see above comment), the Sun Devils have losses to San Diego State and Texas Tech. I'd say expectations are not being met.

Tyson Summers, Georgia Southern
The fan base has already given up on Summers, with many calling for his immediate removal after a lifeless loss to FCS member New Hampshire. Any gains made by Willie Fritz have been fretted away since Fritz moved on to Tulane. Summers is a short timer.

Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M
This football team blew a 34 point lead, barely beat Nicholls State by 10, and got toyed with by Louisiana-Lafayette last week before finally pulling away. With SEC play on deck, it's going to get worse moving forward. Again, expectations are not being met.
