Bilo's College Football PASS/FAIL Reports Week 7: SEC

SEC
PASS: Alabama, Florida, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, LSU
Alabama completely dominated Tennessee this week, which was hardly a surprise to anyone. Alabama is continuing to show absolute dominance on their way to playing for a second straight national title. The Tide outscored Tennessee 28-3 in the second half this week.
Florida ran out big on Missouri, 40-16, despite a rough passing night from Luke Del Rio, and Florida has the East lead by a game over Tennessee and Kentucky. If UT loses one more game in league play, and Florida can keep winning, the Gators could lock down the division early, but are nowhere close to Alabama in terms of ability and talent.
Vanderbilt came up big on defense in a win over Georgia, but this was a game between two non-players in the East. Georgia is 2-3 in East play, and more than likely out of the running, while Vanderbilt won their first conference game of the season. With the Vandy offense as drab as it is, don’t look for this to become a trend.
Arkansas got a 3rd straight 3 TD game from Austin Allen at QB, and Arkansas outlasted Ole Miss at home. Both teams are now 1-2 in conference play, and are likely trying to figure out what lower tiered SEC bowl they will play in on New Years, because every SEC team plays on New Years, right?
LSU got a huge break in the second half when Southern Miss forgot to come back on the field and play football. The Tigers were tied at 10 with the Eagles before going on a 35-0 run to end the game. I have to admit, the offense is a ton more exciting since Miles was fired and Orgeron opened it up.

FAIL: Tennessee, Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss
Tennessee is a rollicking disaster. The Vols have now lost 2 straight games to fall to 2-2, but in the horrible East, they are still just outside of being relevant. It’s time for everyone to just get off the Josh Dobbs train. Great QBs make their teammates better, and Dobbs hasn’t done that.
Missouri is that team in the SEC that makes everyone mutter “they’re still in this conference?” The Tigers have now been flailing in the SEC East for two seasons now, and it’s not looking much better under Barry Odom thus far.
Georgia’s season was one of those wrecks that I saw coming. The Bulldogs are getting nothing of any consistent output out of Nick Chubb, the offense is on one week, and then off the next, and it is becoming quite evident how far Mark Richt let the talent base drain away. The Bulldogs are a mess right  now, and I don’t see when improvements are coming.
Mississippi State has no Dak Prescott, and the Bulldogs are slinking back down to the West basement dweller that they were before he got there. MSU is now just 2-4 this season after a terrible road loss at BYU. Dan Mullen still gets credit for being a solid coach, and I am not certain as to why.

Ole Miss is now just 3-3 and 1-2 in West play this season, and that is with Chad Kelly. I am trying to figure out what Hugh Freeze will do when Kelly is gone. I am still trying to figure out if Freeze has a job in 2017.
