College Football Week 5 PASS/FAIL Report: MAC

PASS: Buffalo, Akron, Western Michigan
Buffalo: Bulls looking like they could be a surprise bowl team if they keep up current pace.
Akron: Zips are finally showing signs of life, but must find consistency after Bowling Green win.
Western Michigan: Broncos pound Ball State out of the gate for 55-3 dominant win in MAC play.

INCOMPLETE: Northern Illinois, Ohio, Eastern Michigan
Northern Illinois: Huskies gave all they had to San Diego State, but fall short as the road dog.
Ohio: Defense had no answers against U Mass, but somehow Bobcats find a way to win 53-50.
Eastern Michigan: Eagles pushed Kentucky as hard as they could, but still fell short.

FAIL: Miami (Ohio), Central Michigan, Kent State, Bowling Green, Ball State
Miami (Ohio): Hawks not in the same universe as Notre Dame in 52-17 loss.
Central Michigan: Chippewas got behind big to Boston College, never recovered.
Kent State: Another week, another Golden Flashes loss.
Bowling Green: Mike Jinks proving to be mistake hire for winless Falcons.
Ball State: Cardinals never got off the bus in 52 point loss to WMU in conference play.
