Coaches on the Hot Seat: 9/28/17

Larry Fedora, North Carolina: The Heels are sinking fast, and there's no end in sight as injuries mount.

Mike Riley, Nebraska: The win over Rutgers wasn't pretty, and may be playing the last game they will be favored in Friday night.

Lovie Smith, Illinois: A loss to Nebraska could set forth a spiral that they cannot pull out of.

Brad Lambert, Charlotte: If you cannot beat Georgia State, who can you beat?

David Bailiff, Rice: Losing to FIU was bad, but not even scoring 10 on them was worse.

Kilani Sitake, BYU: Cougars are falling like a rock, and some are starting to grumble.

Terry Bowden, Akron: At just 2-3 overall at this point, anything short of a bowl is a failure.

Mike Jinks, Bowling Green: Falcons are winless, and Jinks is the worst hire in his class.

Gary Anderson, Oregon State: Beavers are 1-4, and the team is absolutely rudderless.

Jim Mora, UCLA: Got a necessary win against Colorado, and has a week off to regroup.

Rich Rodriguez, Arizona: Has to beat Colorado, UCLA, or both.

Todd Graham, Arizona State: Washington, Utah, and USC are next three dates for 2-3 Devils.

Jim McElwain, Florida: Gators are 3-1 with a reeling LSU team on the slate this week.

Butch Jones, Tennessee: He's just about lost the team and the staff, 0-2 in SEC play.

Barry Odom, Missouri: Tigers giving up 40 per game, and he's a defensive guy?

Bret Bielema, Arkansas: Razorbacks are favored at Gamecocks this week, which is shocking.

Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M: A blowout loss to Alabama will start the screaming again.

Mark Hudspeth, Louisiana: Cajuns are just 1-3, and the program is sliding the wrong way.

Joey Jones, South Alabama: Jags are just 1-4, and going nowhere fast.

Could Be Already Out the Door

Scottie Montgomery, East Carolina: Pirates just 4-13 under him, and getting worse.

Steve Addazio, Boston College: Heading south in ACC play, can only beat MAC teams.

David Beaty, Kansas: Still do not see how anything has improved with him in charge.

Mark Whipple, U Mass: Minutemen still losing every single week, and it's getting harder.

Paul Haynes, Kent State: There is absolutely no talent on this team. None.

Bob Davie, New Mexico: Things are quiet on the investigation front, for now.

Tyson Summers, Georgia Southern: With a loss to Arkansas State, the Eagles are falling hard.

Already Gone

Sean Kugler, UTEP: He was the first victim in FBS football this season, as he resigned last week.

Jerome Souers, Northern Arizona: Will coach to the end of the season, and be gone after 18 years.
