FBS MVP Candidates DL 11/19

As promised, here are the candidates for our All Bilo Team on defense, starting with the DL.

Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue
Even bad teams have bright stars if you know where to look. Kerrigan has been a force in the backfield this season, as he has racked up a nation leading 23.5 TFLs on the season. It's a shame that the Boilers won't have his services to build around in 2011.

Da'Quan Bowers, Clemson
The Tigers are a middling team, but that's because most teams try to run away from Bowers. Not only is he one of the best D linemen in the nation, he's one of the best players. 13 sacks and 21.5 TFLs. Dominant

Nick Fairley, Auburn
Cam Newton got all of the attention, but a team that is 11-0 also has to have studs on D, and the Tigers have one in Fairley. Fairley is only a junior this season, but it's safe to say that you can probably expect to see him on Sundays from here out.

Vinny Curry, Marshall
Curry has been a bright star all season for the HErd, and has registered 10 sacks. The pace has slowed, but only because teams put every blocker available on him.

Brandon Jenkins, Florida State
Jenkins sure knows how to get to the QB. He has been a key piece to the Seminole defensive resurgence in 2010.

HONORABLE MENTION

Josh McNary, Army
Roosevelt Nix, Kent State
JJ Watt, Wisconsin
Jeremy Beal, Oklahoma
Jonathon Massaquoi, Troy
