FBS Power Ranking System Edition 12

1. Boise State (10-0, 2593)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #4, Defeated Fresno State 51-0
This Week: at #8 Nevada
The Broncos slide into #1 this week, as 1-3 from last week were all idle. Boise is playing their best football right now, and it's going to be tough to get this spot away from them with 2 games left.
I Pick: Boise

2. TCU (11-0, 2576)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #1, Idle
This Week: at New Mexico
The Frogs will go on the road for their final game this season. This is the best team in school history, and the winningest class to graduate as well. Frogs should be alive and well for a chance at the title after this week.
I Pick: TCU

3. Oregon (10-0, 2473)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #2, Idle
This Week: #32, Arizona
The Ducks are home this week after a week off. Don't expect the train to slow down now. The Ducks are on a mission.
I Pick: Oregon

4. Auburn (11-0, 2406)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #3, Idle
This Week: at #14 Alabama
Auburn continues to snub their nose at the NCAA by playing Cam Newton at QB despite all of his issues. This may be brick wall week for the Tigers.
I Pick: UPSET ALERT!!! Alabama

5. Oklahoma State (10-1, 2310)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #5, Defeated Kansas 48-14
This Week: #13, Oklahoma
One of the best seasons in Stillwater is coming to an end, and Mike Gundy and staff have many reasons to be proud. This is for a birth in the Big 12 Championship Game.
I Pick: OSU

6. Ohio State (10-1, 2279)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #6, Defeated Iowa 20-17
This Week: Michigan
The Buckeyes have been as advertised this season, and Terelle Pryor has become a major QB force. They still have a shot at a BCS bid, but they need a little help. Great season, no matter where they end up, and you know it'll be somewhere good.
I Pick: OSU

7. Stanford (10-1, 2176)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #7, Defeated California 48-14
This Week: Oregon State
Never mind that handling of USC last week, OSU will not be able to keep up with Stanford. Stanford's win over the Bears last week was the one last hurdle. A huge win over the Beavers may be enough to get the Cardinal into the Rose Bowl if Oregon wins out.
I Pick: Stanford

8. Nevada (10-1, 2132)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #8, Defeated New Mexico State 52-6
This Week: #1 Boise State
This may be the biggest home game ever for the Wolfpack as #1 Boise State comes to town. A win here would not only send Boise out of the BCS and the #1 spot, but it would be a program maker.
I Pick Boise

9. Wisconsin (10-1, 2110)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #9, Defeated Michigan 48-28
This Week: Northwestern
The Badgers are white hot, and the Wildcats will not get in their way. What would they give to have another shot at Michigan State right now...
I Pick: Wisconsin

10. LSU (10-1, 1980)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #10, Defeated Ole Miss 43-36
This Week: at #15 Arkansas
LSU has been winning despite issues with their offense all season long. If only they had found the offense from last week when they played Auburn. Going to be a tough week for the Bayou Bengals.
I Pick: UPSET ALERT!!! Arkansas

11. Michigan State (10-1, 1932)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #12, Defeated Purdue 35-31
This Week: at Penn State
Penn State does not have the guns to keep up with the Spartans this week. A win should get MSU into the BCS mix.
I Pick: Michigan State

12. Utah (9-2, 1898)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #14, Defeated #34 San Diego State 38-34
This Week: BYU
The Utes came back from a huge deficit in the 1st half, and snapped a strange slump. A win against BYU is a must.
I Pick: Utah

13. Oklahoma (10-1, 1782)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #15, Defeated Baylor 53-24
This Week: at #5 Oklahoma State
It all comes down to this for the Sooners. Win in an upset and go to the Big 12 title game. Lose and end up somewhere undesirable for the second year in a row.
I Pick: OSU

14. Alabama (9-2, 1772)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #13, Defeated Georgia State 63-7
This Week: #4 Auburn
The Tide had a pretty sweet tune up against a team that they never should have been playing at this stage of the season. Bama is going to be pumped at home.
I Pick: Alabama

15. Arkansas (9-2, 1670)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #16, Defeated Mississippi State 38-31 (2OT)
This Week: #10 LSU
The Hogs are red hot, and getting better at the right time. I give them the edge at home this week against the lucky Tigers.
I Pick: Arkansas

16. Virginia Tech (9-2, 1624)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #17, Defeated Miami 31-17
This Week: Virginia
Tech has had a miraculous turnaround after a disastrous start to the year. The Hokies are headed to the ACC title game, where I would favor them against anyone. Orange Bowl is a likely destination.
I Pick: Tech

17. Northern Illinois (9-2, 1608)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #18, Defeated Ball State 59-21
This Week: Eastern Michigan
Who would have thought that after an 0-2 start that the Huskies would be top 20 and the best team in the MAC. What a difference from early September. The rout over the Cardinals last week cost Stan Parrish his job.
I Pick: NIU

18. Nebraska (9-2, 1597)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #11, Lost to #21 Texas A&M 9-6
This Week: Colorado (Friday)
I have a feeling that the Huskers are going to feel like taking out some anger this week. Colorado has been much improved since Dan Hawkins was ousted, but I wouldn't want to be them this week. Better keep the cameras off of the field and away from Carel Pelini this week as well.
I Pick: Nebraska

19. Missouri (9-2, 1333)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #20, Defeated Iowa State 14-0
This Week: Kansas
If the Tigers don't destroy Kansas this week, then they have no business being in the top 25.
I Pick: Missouri

20. South Carolina (8-3, 1267)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #24, Defeated Troy 69-24
This Week: Clemson
The Gamecocks rolled past Troy last week and are on fire right now. The game against Clemson is always tough, but Clemson does not have the guns to keep up this season.
I Pick: Carolina

21. Texas A&M (8-3, 1241)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #22, Defeated #18 Nebraska 9-6
This Week: at Texas
All it took was a QB change to save the season for the Aggies. Too bad it didn't happen earlier.
I Pick: A&M

22. Hawaii (8-3, 1191)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #25, Defeated San Jose State 41-7
This Week: New Mexico State
The Rainbows are one of the biggest surprise teams of 2010. The Aggies will be no test.
I Pick: Hawaii

23. Central Florida (8-3, 1172)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #31, Defeated Tulane 61-14
This Week: at Memphis
This week should be a breeze. Kind of like a scrimmage.
I Pick: UCF

24. Tulsa (8-3, 1137)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #26, Defeated UTEP 31-28
This Week: #25 Southern Mississippi
Todd Graham has brought the Golden Hurricane back to respectability after a mess of a 2009. A win on Saturdat would be huge.
I Pick: Tulsa

25. Southern Mississippi (8-3, 1121)
Last Week's Ranking/Result: #29, Defeated Houston 59-41
This Week: at #24 Tulsa
The Golden Eagles have been strangely up and down all season long. This week is a huge finale, but Tulsa is stronger overall.
I Pick: Tulsa

Knocking On The Door

26. Ohio (8-3, 1044)
27. NC State (8-3, 1043)
28. Florida State (8-3, 1032)
29. Navy (8-3, 958)
30. Air Force (8-4, 942)
31. Temple (8-3, 907)
32. Arizona (7-3, 865)
33. UC (7-4, 855)
34. San Diego State (7-4, 838)
35. West Virginia (7-3, 790)
