Bilo's Week 4 PASS/FAIL Reports: AAC

Only four teams received passing grades in AAC play in week four, with seven teams receiving our hated failing grade for poor play, even sometimes in winning. Here are the final grades for AAC football, week 4:

AAC

PASS: Houston, Temple, UCF, Memphis

Houston scored on their first 8 drives, and the starters rested after the half in a 64-3 win over Texas State on the road to remain unbeaten. D’Eriq King caught a TD pass, threw a TD pass, and returned a kickoff for a TD in the win.

Temple used a 28 point deluge in the 2^nd quarter to pull away from Charlotte, with the longest of four scoring drives coming in six plays.

Dontravious Wilson rushed for three TDs as UCF cruised to a 53-14 win over FIU. It was the highest point total for UCF in two years.

Riley Ferguson tossed 6 TD passes, and Memphis scored 35 in the 1^st quarter in a 77-3 win over Bowling Green to wrap up non con play for the Tigers.

FAIL: SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, Cincinnati, U Conn, East Carolina, USF

Despite holding TCU to just 6 points at the half, SMU imploded in the second half, falling 33-3 to the cross town rival Horned Frogs.

Tulane needed 4 OTs and 25 points to hold off UL-Lafayette 41-39. Tulane may have won, but this game shows how far away from being truly good they are.

Tulsa was a 17 point favorite, but the defense imploded, and the Golden Hurricane needed 2 OTs to hold off Fresno State.

U Conn is still showing offensive ineptitude, scoring just 24 points in a 31-24 loss at home to Syracuse. The Huskies have not scored 4 TDs in a game all season.

East Carolina has a history of upset wins over Virginia Tech, but today this was not so. The Pirates trailed 38-0 at the half in an eventual loss.

USF had a chance to knock off a reeling Florida State club, but FSU scored 28 in the 1^st quarter, and led 38-14 at the half in drubbing the Bulls at home.
