One that missed me until this evening, but North Texas has made a move as well as it pertains to their head coach, and the Eagles fired Dan McCarney on the heals of an embarrassing 66-7 loss to FCS and Big Sky member Portland State. The win for PSU was their 2nd of the year against an FBS opponent, having already beaten Washington State in the season opener.
UNT is winless this season, just two years removed from a bowl win over UNLV in the 2013 season Heart of Dallas Bowl. McCarney was added to our Hot Seat column last week, as the pressure was seen to be mounting after UNT has failed to be competitive this season in any way.
OC Mike Canales has been named interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season while the administration begins the search for a new leader for the program.
