Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech
The Hokies are 3-4, and just 1-2 in ACC play. At this point, a decision looms as being sooner than later.

Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech

After starting off 2-0, the Yellow Jackets have lost 5 straight. Inconsistencies are plaguing this program

Dana Holgorsen, West Virginia

The Mountaineers are just 3-3, but what’s worse is their 0-3 start in Big 12 play.

Mike Riley, Nebraska

The Huskers had a bounce back win against Minnesota, and have another test with Northwestern upcoming.

Kevin Wilson, Indiana

This is typical IU under Wilson, as after a strong start, the Hoosiers are now just 4-3, and 0-3 in Big 10 play.

Rick Stockstill, Middle Tennessee

MTSU is 2-1 in CUSA play, which is the good news, but the bad news is the 3-4 overall record.

Ron Turner, FIU

At this point, I can honestly see Turner getting one more season, but at 3-4, a late collapse could spell certain doom.

Charlie Partridge, FAU

The Owls are just 1-5, and 1-2 in CUSA play. If not for Charlotte, FAU is in last place in the East. This is not what fans had in mind.

Larry Coker, UTSA

Coker isn’t so much on the hot seat as he may be on retirement watch. Rumors have started swirling in San Antonio, enough so that reporters are bringing it up to the AD. Stay tuned on this story.

Sean Kugler, UTEP

UTEP made a move forward last fall, but now they are taking a huge step back. At 2-4, and 0-2 in CUSA West play, this situation bears watching.

Jeff Monken, Army

The Cadets are just 2-5 and have largely struggled against FCS foes Fordham and Bucknell. Again, this situation isn’t better than any before it in any way.

Pete Lembo, Ball State
The Cardinals are just 2-5 and 1-2 in MAC play, and lost to Georgia State last week. It doesn’t get much worse.

Paul Haynes, Kent State

Haynes has stepped out of the Dead Pool this week, even though the Flashes are just 3-4. Kent State is 2-1 in MAC play, and that may be enough for now.

Brian Polian, Nevada

At just 3-4 overall, and 1-2 in conference play, the Wolf Pack are hardly playing their best football, and that loss to previously winless Wyoming last week cannot help.

Tim DeRuyter, Fresno State

Fresno State is now just 2-5 and 1-3 in MWC play, and they have been a train wreck ever since losing to San Jose State to end a perfect season, which was followed by a trouncing at the hands of USC in the Las Vegas Bowl two seasons ago. Wheels are off the wagon.

Mike MacIntyre, Colorado

The Buffs have still not won a game in PAC-12 play during his tenure, which is in year three. Beating Oregon State this week may calm some nerves.

Mark Helfrich, Oregon

All eyes are on Helfrich and the Ducks, who are just 4-3 and are coming off a sluggish win over Washington. This wasn’t supposed to happen so quickly.

Bret Bielema, Arkansas

The Razorbacks are just 2-4 and are 1-2 in SEC play, and are the only sub .500 team overall in the SEC West. Things don’t look good.

Paul Petrino, Idaho

Idaho is 2-4, and 1-2 in Sun Belt play. The good news is that they beat Troy on the road last week. Petrino has to turn the corner soon.

Dennis Franchione, Texas State

Franchione hasn’t turned the most remote of corners at Texas State, and this may be his worst unit yet. DC Jon Thompson already quit. Could that be a sign of things to come?
