The Title Chase
Oklahoma State must hate Ames, Iowa by now. They nearly lost a second chance at a title for the second time in the last 5 years against Iowa State in Ames, but somehow managed to pull off a 35-31 comeback win. The Cowboys are in complete control of the conference race, but there is still work to do over the last two weeks, as Baylor and Oklahoma both come to Stillwater in the next two weeks.
Oklahoma can claim the conference title by winning out, but to do that, the Sooners have to beat TCU at home, and Oklahoma State on the road in the finale. It sounds tough, but it can be done, especially with Trevone Boykin being injured at TCU.
TCU is still in this thing on paper, but they need help, and like I said, Boykin is out with an injury as of now. The Frogs need to finish this season out on the road, as they have no home games left. They still get Oklahoma and Baylor. Should TCU win both, they would still need Oklahoma State to lose twice to be able to claim the prize.
This leaves us with Baylor. The Bears season fell on its ear this week with a ten point loss to Oklahoma at home, so now the Bears need some help as well. The Bears are the lone team of the four in the race to still have three dates left on the schedule. They have two road dates with Oklahoma State and TCU coming up, and finish at home with Texas. Baylor needs one OU loss, and they need to beat Oklahoma State and TCU, and would still likely need the Texas win, and the conference is theirs.
There's still plenty left on the table as we close out the next two to three weeks in Big 12 play.
