It's Not Settled
Two of three leaders (Arkansas State, Appalachian State) did not play this week, and the conference slate has two weeks left to go. Arkansas State is in the lead by one game, and having beaten Appalachian State, they are in control. They have two very winnable games against New Mexico State and Texas State, and wins in both would secure the SBC title.
Appalachian State needs Arkansas State to lose both of those games for a shot at the crown, and any loss by the Mountaineers moving forward would signal the end of their conference title chase for 2015. App State should win both games against South Alabama and UL-Lafayette to stay in the hunt, but if Arkansas State even wins one of their two games, the Mountaineers are done.
Georgia Southern needs Appalachian State to lose , and then they need to win out against South Alabama and Georgia State to have a shot at sharing the conference title with Arkansas State. They also, by the way, need Arkansas State to lose once to share, or twice to take the title in a sole capacity, and that seems highly unlikely.
