The Title Chase
Toledo really dropped the ball in a 5 point loss to Northern Illinois and their backup QB this week. The West Division is by far the toughest of the two divisions in the MAC, and the loss handed Western Michigan to control their own destiny after a tough start to their season. WMU is now 5-0 in league play, but Toledo, Northern Illinois, and Central Michigan all have just one loss. It would help the Rockets to have WMU, NIU, and CMU all lose while the Rockets win out, and that’s in a perfect world. The Rockets could help their cause as they play CMU this week, and finish the season with WMU.
The WMU Broncos have the tough ticket to a West title, as their final three games are (in order) Bowling Green, at Northern Illinois, and at Toledo.
Northern Illinois has a very manageable path to the division title, as they visit Buffalo, followed by home dates with WMU and reeling Ohio to close it out.
Toledo has a brutal path, with road trips to Central Michigan and Bowling Green, followed up with WMU at home.
CMU has the easiest path, but could use some help. They have a home date with Toledo this week, followed by a road trip to Kent State, and a home game with Eastern Michigan to finish the season.
The East Division is all but locked up for Bowling Green. If they beat Western Michigan this week, they clinch at least a tie, while a win against Toledo would lock it up. The road trip to Ball State should be an easy win for the Falcons.
Buffalo currently sits a full 2 games back of Bowling Green, and should not be a factor, but is playing better and better every week.

Bowl Eligible: Western Michigan, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Bowling Green
Ineligible For Bowl Contention: Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Miami (Ohio), U Mass
