Here is the list of coaches who's days are officially numbered...
Tim Brewster, Minnesota
God bless him, but he is starting to sound like a guy that's trying to sell you a lemon of a car when you know that it's a lemon. The whole we're gonna keep on fighting and put our best foot forward at Purdue thing is just sounding lame right now. Minnesota just flat sucks right now, so the best thing to do is to end it as soon as possible.
Neil Calloway, UAB
Go nowhere Neil has not produced a winner in Birmingham, and the buzz around town seems as exciting as getting a hernia. Nobody cares, and nobody dares. This program has flat lined, and new blood is needed before the patient just up and dies.
Bob Toledo, Tulane
Just a few seasons ago, there was talk of dropping football in New Orleans. After the tenure of Bob Toledo, people are probably tyhinking that it already happened. Club football anyone?
David Bailiff, Rice
I don't have a beat on some juicy rumor that he's gone, but there should be one floating around somewhere. Of course, someone has to give a damn for that to happen. Rice is abysmal, and when you don't think that they can get worse, they do. Bailiff was just the wrong guy to take over when Todd Graham went mercenary to go to Tulsa.
Mike Locksley, New Mexico
Actually, he was supposed to go as early as last Sunday, with the bye week being this week and all. What probably held it up was Mike Leach's court ruling against Texas Tech was held up, so he wasn't exactly free of baggage yet. Locksley is done...make no mistake.
Paul Wulff, Washington State
3 seasons and 3 wins. What a great investment. Then again, has anyone actually been to Pullman? How do you sell that place to today's stellar high school athlete? "You like cows, son? How about shitty weather?"
Mark Richt, Georgia
That 1-4 start was like a knife to the heart of Bulldog fan. He is never going to live that down, and let's face it...Jim Donnan was fired for less.
Mario Christobal, FIU
A bunch of people expected more than a 1-4 start, with that one win coming against Western Kentucky in a dog fight of all things. I actually had a guy comment on this blog about how FIU was going to continue the Sun Belt dominance of Maryland. People believed in this guy this season, and they have nothing to show for it. Again, the wrong guy.
Todd Dodge, North Texas
Remember the goal of 6 wins to keep his job? They would have to go 5-1 the rest of the way to make that mark. I hear the splashing noises of someone swimming in the dead pool.
