Coaches on the Hot Seat...Volume 3

Here are the coaches that are starting to feel the burn...

Danny Hope, Purdue...The Boilermakers have made it back to 2-2, but that has not cooled the seat. A bowl game is a must to keep the pressure at acceptable levels. The schedule is not very promising at this point, as Purdue could still finish at 4-8.

Ron Zook, Illinois...The Illini are sitting at 2-2, but one of those wins came against Southern Illinois. With Big 10 play firing up, things could start to get ugly.

Bob Toledo, Tulane...He cooled his seat considerably by beating Rutgers. A win is a win, and they still have to win for him to stay.

David Bailiff, Rice...Bailiff should be in the dead pool, but he has not been publicly mentioned as a candidate to be canned, but he should be.

Doug Martin, Kent State...This was supposed to ne corner turning season #5 for the Flashes, and like every other season, they have failed once again.

Stan Parrish, Ball State...He really saved his ass with that win against Central Michigan, but how many more can there be?

Bill Cubit, Western Michigan...The Broncos have been letting their fans down the last two seasons, and you have to wonder when they are going to turn it around.

Dennis Erickson, Arizona State...The slope is getting slippery, and a third straight loss would dump him into the pool.

Ricky Bustle, Louisiana-Lafayette...I won't hold the upcoming loss to Oklahoma State against him, but the rest of the season will be held against him if they fall.

Steve Roberts, Arkansas State...The RedWolves have a QB who is at the top of his game, and he is being wasted by the struggles of the rest of the team. Roberts has not been able to sail this shipp straight to the promised land in a very winnable league.

Todd Berry, Louisiana-Monroe...I know that this is his first season, but when you fire a coach that goes 6-6 for a guy with a career 5-42 record coming in, you had better get something, and they have gotten nothing.
