Here are our first ever FCS projections for position MVP...as the season progresses, we will post polls so that you can vote on who you think is the best of the group that we post on. Here are the best performing QB's that also mean the most to their team at this point of the season.
1. Josh McGregor-Jacksonville
McGregor is coming off of being named Pioneer Football League player of the week after posting more than 400 yards passing last week in a big road win over Davidson, and you can't argue with his overall numbers, as he ranks second in the nation in efficiency, has put up 1212 yards and 13 scores, and has only tossed two picks. All of that and JU is on the verge of joinging the PRS top 25 with a win over San Diego this Saturday.
2. DeAndre Pressley-Appalachian State
Pressley leads the nation in efficiency, leads ASU in passing obviously, and also leads the Mountaineers in rushing on the season as well. He also has not been sacked once this season, probably more due to him being a rushing QB, but still a solid feat after 4 games. If the Mountaineers could brag about a win over an FBS team, then ASU would be #1 in the PRS, but they still only trail Jacksonville State by 59 points. Pressley is making good things happen, and the loss of Armanti Edwards has been much less painful because of his play.
3. Casey Therriault-Jackson State
The Tigers are having a solid season, and are creeping their way back into the PRS top 25 after a brief stay earlier in the season, and it can be attributed to Therriault's play. He has passed for over 1400 yards already with a 12/2 ratio. He is completing 60% of his passes in a pass favored offensive system.
4. Jeremy Moses-Stephen F. Austin
After a rough opening season loss to Texas A&M, Moses has lead the Lumberjacks up the PRS and into the #4 spot this week. Good things are happening,as Moses has passed for 1193 yards and a 9/2 ratio. Other than a showdown against Texas State, the season looks winnable, with a playoff birth likely.
5. Jeff SInclair-Robert Morris
Sinclair personifies a player that is moving his team in the right direction, as Robert Morris turned from mid-major giant killer, to mid-major giant in the span of a month. Sinclair tossed 4 TDs in the second half of a 30-9 win over Wagner last weekend, and the Colonials look to cruise through to the 30th of the month before they get a challenge from Duquesne. Sinclair has a chance to put up some special numbers in a short season.
