Taught a Master's Class
Oklahoma State
One may not see the mastery in what OSU did on Thursday night, but when you look at game film, the defense came up with many great plays in crucial situations, even though they were susceptible to the big play, and the offense, as has been the case all season, is in excellent shape.

Baylor
I know it was only Kansas, but that win on Saturday had to send shock waves through the conference. Baylor is on their way to a bowl game with Robert Griffin back in the saddle at QB.

Iowa State
The Cyclones have a strong pulse. They needed some strong performances from stars Arnaud and Robinson, and that is what they got. ISU has a shot to hurt a few people and get back to what has become their customary place in the mid tier bowl circuit.

Didn't Learn Much
Oklahoma
The Sooners just kind of went through the motions, still made a bunch of mistakes, and got away with a win when another sizable lead got cut down on them. The Sooners don't lack talent, they just lack a thirst for blood...a killer's instinct.

Colorado
The Buffaloes got a huge win for Dan Hawkins and for the program, but it was a narrow win over a really bad Georgia team. I fear what will happen when the Buffaloes get into the thick of Big 12 play. Hawkins is not safe from the firing squad just yet.

Failing Grade
Texas A&M
The Aggies needed a big win on the road against a top tier team, and failed miserably. Jerrod Johnson gave the game away at the end, as turnovers proved to be the key to the Aggies loss. The Aggies still have a shot to do some damage, but the defense has to got to get shored up, and the mistakes have to go away.

Kansas
What's not to fail when you give up 55 and lose by 48? There is not much to be said here, but Mark Mangino would not have done any better than Turner Gill is doing right now. This mess will fall under the 3 year clean up column.

Texas
The Horns are out of the polls and looking lost. Garrett Gilbert is not nearly the player the Colt McCoy was, and if you are going to site his youth, remember, we already knew how good McCoy was at this stage, so that argument is weak. The defense can't tackle either.

Texas Tech
Two losses in a row now for the Red Raiders. This week is a head scratcher, as Tech should have far outclassed the Cyclones. Better get it right next week.

Week 6 Schedule
Nebraska at Kansas State...Thursday
Oklahoma State at Louisiana-Lafayette...Friday
Baylor at Texas Tech
Arkansas at Texas A&M
Colorado at Missouri
Utah at Iowa State
