Big East Review Week 6

Final Scores
Rutgers 27, UConn 24
Syracuse 13, South Florida 9
Louisville 56, Memphis 0
West Virginia 49, UNLV 10
Notre Dame 23, Pitt 7
Cincinnati 45, Miami (Oh) 3

Head of the Class
Syracuse and West Virginia
Very few actual conference games have been played because the Big East only has 8 members. Syracuse got an early jump by beating USF in Tampa, and for now, they seem to control their own destiny. WVU dominated UNLV, but the game was hardly a challenge.

Barely Passing/Hanging On
Rutgers and Louisville
The Knights are a banana peel from falling apart, but they seemed to finally find some offensive production against UConn. Charlie Strong is doing a remarkable job getting the Cardinals to believe in themselves, and they may move to the next level sooner then we expect.

Failing
Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, South Florida, and UConn
The only school in this group that was not expected to contend for the conference title was USF. The other three were, and they are not close to meeting expectations. The Big East is still wide open, but these guys won't have a shot unless the ship turns on a dime now.

Week 7 Schedule
USF at West Virginia (Thursday)
Cincinnati at Louisville (Friday)
Pittsburgh at Syracuse
Army at Rutgers
