Temple Owls
Temple has to be feeling some measure of revenge this week after knocking off the Huskies of the Big East. Afterall, the Big East kicked them out of the conference. I think that the Big East would kind of like to have Temple back right now. The Owls are out to do some damage this season.

Miami (Ohio) Red(skins)Hawks
I prefer the Redskin nickname (being a small part Sioux, I don't see the offensive nature of this). Getting back to relevence, Miami is finding theirs. Miami is now 2-1 for 2010, Mike Heywood is starting to resemble a solid HC. Colorado Sate is horrible, but this is still a big win for a rebuilding Miami program.

Central Michigan Chippewas
The Chippies are not missing a beat under HC Dan Enos. Ryan Radcliffe and Paris Cotton have teamed up to move the offense in the right direction, and the defense is still playing at their peak. EMU was no challenge last weekend, but Northwestern will test Central on every level this week. Great conference win to get back into the MAC race.

Toledo Rockets
Don't look now, but the Rockets are 2-0 in conference play. I didn't see this coming after the abysmal showing against Arizona in the opener, but the Rockets are playing with som life.

Bowling Green Falcons
The Falcons have been playing well offensively all season, but they took off the safety this week and really started firing. They gave the ball to RB Willie Geter 30 times, and although he never broke a huge gain,l he kept the offense moving, and also ate up plenty of clock. That's exactly what the Falcons need.

Didn't Learn Much
Besides the Masters, nobody learned a damned thing this week.

Failing Grade
Ball State Cardinals
The Cardinals are just really very bad. I am still trying to understand exactly how far this team has crumbled since Brady Hoke left for San Diego State. Maybe the writing was on the wall.

Kent State Golden Flashes
The Flashes didn't play horribly against Penn State, but they could not get the offense clicking at all. KSU was held to just 228 yards and 12 first downs for the game. The defense did pick off Robert Bolden twice for the game, but the offense never held up their end of the deal. This problem has to get fixed.

Ohio Bobcats
There is nothing good that came out of the Ohio State debacle. I wouldn't schedule the Buckeyes again any time soon. This loss could be demoralizing to the team. They have to bounce back with a win this week. Desperation time is now.

Northern Illinois Huskies
HC Jerry Kill has been hospitalized. You can see the lack of focus on the field, because his guys are no good without him. Hopefully Coach Kill gets better soon, and takes the reins. It's not too late to save the season, but the slope is getting slippery.

Eastern Michigan
Consistency is not a good thing if a team is just consistently bad, like Eastern Michigan.

Buffalo Bulls
After a promising start, the Bulls have become no shows on the national and local stage. Their only win is over 1-AA Rhode Island. That's all you need to know. Jeff Quinn has a ton of work to do to keep UB from sliding back into the sewer of D1 football.

Western Michigan Broncos
Wow...another season where Western plays below their capability. Bill Cubit should start getting worried, as the other league bullies are moving ahead of them at an ever increasing pace.

Akron Zips
If the Zips just went back to playing 1-AA ball, nobody would miss them. They are just weighing down the MAC, along with their brothers-in-sucking Eastern. Akron may very well end up at 0-12 this season. That's the reality.
