Florida Atlantic Owls
Give FAU some credit, they trailed big in the 3rd quarter, and then they came stroming back to steal a win in Birmingham. The bad news is that it shouldn;t have been so tough. UAB is awful, and their only good player from last year was gone to graduation. QB Jeff Van Camp is a star in this league, and passed for 254 yards and 3 scores in the win.
Troy Trojans
Corey Robinson did his best to replace Levi Brown at QB, and he did pass for 252 yards and a score, but he also tossed two picks. This game was a war and went back and forth. Troy easily could have lost this game and did nothing to distinguish themselves as a conference contender.
Failing Grade
Middle Tennessee
The Blue Raiders were in the game until the end despite the loss of star QB Dwight Dasher. Logan Kilgore did his best to replace the suspended star, but a late fumble was all that was needed for Minnesota to preserve a win. You have to win these games at home, especially when you were that close. MTSU has also got to learn how to stop the run.
Louisiana-Lafayette
What can you say that's good about a 55-7 loss? Nothing, that's what.
North Texas Eagles
What can you say that's good about a 35-10 loss to Clemson? how about you were lucky to only lose by 25 in death valley. That's as close to a win as you'll come.
Western Kentucky
WKU lost to Nebraska 49-10. I feel a recurring theme coming on...
Arkansas State Indians
Ryan Alpin had a very nice game at QB, but the defense never showed up on the Alabama plains. It would have been nice if anyone figured out a way to tackle Cameron Newton.
