Week 5 Saturday Preview-Part 2

There could be some hidden gems in this bucket...

Temple (3-1) at Army (3-1)
Vegas Line: Temple -6
The Owls are coming off of a tough loss to Penn State. Army is ranked in the PRS at #25 for the first time ever. If Temple RB Bernard Pierce can't get his ankle right, Army could shut the Owls down on offense.
I pick: Army, especially if Pierce is not available.

Florida State (3-1) at Virginia (2-1)
Vegas Line: FSU -12
OK, UVA has 2 wins over FCS opponents (Richmond, VMI), but FSU has had problems with the Cavs before, and UVA didn't look half bad against USC on the road.
I pick: FSU, but they had better be focused.

Miami (2-1) at Clemson (2-1)
Vegas Line: Miami -3
The loser could fall out of the ACC race early, with the winner gaining a solid jump. Unfortunately, the Tigers don't have Miami's talent.
I pick: Miami

Kansas (2-2) at Baylor (3-1)
Vegas Line: Baylor -5
Will the real Kansas please stand up? Baylor has to be highly aware of the dual nature of the Kansas football team in 2010. Will it be the team that beat Georgia Tech, or the team that lost to North Dakota State and Southern Miss?
I pick: Baylor...Robert Griffin will make the question a non issues all by himself.

Northwestern (4-0) at Minnesota (1-3)
Vegas Line: NW -4
Just tune in to see Tim Brewster squirm for his job...if you're sick  in the head anyway...but that's ok.
I pick: NW

Kentucky (3-1) at Ole Miss (2-2)
Vegas Line: Ole Miss -4
This could be two teams going in different directions after last week. Ole Miss is favored at home, and if UK loses this game, their season is a mid tier bowl destination at best. Lots of desperation here.
I pick: Ole Miss...UK can't stop the run, and that's exactly what the Rebels will do.

Kent State (1-2) at Miami (Oh) (2-2)
Vegas Line: PK
Again, a desperation game as both teams need a win to stay in the MAC race. This game will be a turning point for whoever wins.
I pick: Miami

Navy (2-1) at Air Force (3-1)
Vegas Line: AF -7
This game is always a great time, and it always feels like a throw back with both teams running the option. This will be a solid watch.
I pick: AF

Virginia Tech (2-2) at NC State (4-0)
Vegas Line: Tech -3
Tech is slowly climbing out of the grave that they had dug themselves into early. The Pack is trying to prove that they belong in the ACC title conversation. This will be a blood bath.
I pick: Tech

East Carolina (2-1) at North Carolina (1-2)
Vegas Line: UNC -17
UNC had more major bad news today with the cheating scandal that has torn the team apart. This distraction has to start burning the Heels up at some point.
I pick: UPSET ALERT!!! ECU gets a big road win.

Tennessee (2-2) at LSU (4-0)
Vegas Line: LSU -16
Tennessee really didn't play that badly against Florida, and LSU is having some struggles offensively. I wouldn't want to play that LSU defense, though.
I pick: LSU

Arizona State (2-2) at Oregon State (1-2)
Vegas Line: OSU -6
Anyone care to see the beginning of the end of Dennis Erickson's mercenary career? See it in Corvallis on Saturday.
I pick: OSU

Tulsa (2-2) at Memphis (1-3)
Vegas Line: Tulsa -13.5
Tulsa has a tendency to blow games like this, and Memphis seems to be showing signs of getting better every week. Look out!!!
I pick: Tulsa...but be wary...

Wyoming (1-3) at Toledo (3-1)
Vegas Line: Toledo -4
Watch out for the Toledo hangover after the Purdue upset, and the Cowboys are desperate...
I pick: Toledo, but again, be wary of the upset.

Georgia Tech (2-2) at Wake Forest (2-2)
Vegas Line: GT -14
The loser of this game is done for the year. Stakes are high.
I pick: Tech

Georgia (1-3) at Colorado (2-1)
Vegas Line: UGA -2
The losing coach gets fired first, but both may get the axe before it's over with this season.
I pick: UGA...better athletes, and even more desperate.

Texas Tech (2-1) at Iowa State (2-2)
Vegas Line: Tech -4
Tech needs a bounce back win, but ISU is looking for a big upset win at home against an exposed Red Raider offense.
I pick: Tech...but there will be a price to pay.

Marshall (1-3) at Southern Miss (3-1)
Vegas Line: USM -9
Marshall has been close this season to getting a big win, and this Eagle team may be in line to be upset.
I pick: Southern Miss, but not if they start playing like individuals rather than a team again.

Notre Dame (1-3) at Boston College (2-1)
Vegas Line: ND -1.5
If ND is going to turn this ship around, now would be a good time to start.
I pick: ND

Washington (1-2) at USC (4-0)
Vegas Line: USC -11.5
SC gets revenge from last season's shocker in Seattle. Jake Locker falls in the draft even more this week.
I pick: USC
