Oregon State was idle

Taught a Master's Class
California Golden Bears
Kevin Riley tossed for 4 scores and the defense scored on a fumble return and off of a pick. The Bears forced 5 turnovers on the day, and never turned the ball over themselves. The Bears seem ready to throw their name into the PAC 10 hat.

Washington Huskies
The Huskies did what they needed to do to get back on track at home Saturday. Jake Locker saved his season by passing for 289 yards and 4 scores on the day, and the Huskies managed to double up on the Orangemen, who were coming off of an impressive road win.

Oregon Ducks
Oregon is the one of the 5 best teams in the nation right now, and they proved it by blowing out Tennessee on one of the nation's biggest stages Saturday night. The Ducks found themselves down 13-3 early, and thenwent on a 45-0 run, and they walked out of Neyland Stadium like championship contenders.

Arizona Wildcats
I will not go too crazy about a win over the Citadel, but this was as solid a win as you can get over a 1-AA opponent. The Cats have given up 8 points so far this season, and will get their first big test as Iowa comes to town this week.

Stanford Cardinal
Stanford wasn't the prettiest date at the prom last weekend, but they made it work for themselves, and they walked out of Pasadena having put a bullet in the head of UCLA's September hopes for a win. Jim Harbaugh is as entertaining a coach as there is.

Didn't Learn Much
Washington State Cougars
The Cougars were lucky to get away with a win over 1-AA Montana State last Saturday. The Cougars trailed 22-7 in the 4th before rallying late to win. This will be the only win of the season for WSU.

Arizona State Sun Devils
I refuse to give props to ASU for winning two games over 1-AA opponents. I know ASU fans who feel the same way that I do. This is no way to test your football team, and it's going to blow up in their faces. The fact is, that despite the score, ASU did not dominate the Lumberjacks at home.

USC Trojans
I actually gained respect points for Lane Kiffin when he said that there was nothing positive about USC's win over Virginia. He's right...there wasn't.

Failing Grade
UCLA bRuins
The season is over in Westwood. The fans are sick of Rick Neuheisel's glass half full bullshit. They are sick of the fact that the bRuins have not been to the Rose Bowl since 1998, and the fact that that is their only major bowl appearance since Troy Aikman was QB. The bRuins are officially irrelevent in LA, and Dan Guerrero is going to start to have to make some hard analytical decisions if he gives a damn about football at his school, because right now, it doesn't seem that anyone does.

Did Not Play
Oregon State Beavers

  1. Ouch bRuins! But totally true. Wonder what Durrel is thinking now. Can't give him the satisfaction. Neuheisel didn't even look upset. Get mad Rick...get mad...you need a fire under you...
