Gophers almost let one go, but hold on
The Gophers ran out to a 14-3 lead, but barely held on to beat Middle Tennessee 24-17 on the road. MTSU, who was without QB Dwight Dasher due to suspension, rode the arm of QB Logan Kilgore and the legs of Philip Tanner, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Raiders turned the ball over late to allow the Gophers to preserve a hard fought win.
Fb Jon Hoese rushed for 3 scores for the Gophers, less than a week after his Father suffered a severe stroke. Duane Bennett also rushed for 187 yards.
